My ex-best friend had an infection (something like bv) and said she couldnt use tampons becauce of toxic shock syndrome and the amount of bacteria. is it actually true that if you have an infection like that then you will get tss if you wear one?

Yes it is true. It is never happened to me or anyone that I know but why would you ex-best friend lie about that?

you get that infection from leaving it in too long or not changing as often. Hygiene is EXTREMELY important when using tampons.
As long as you wash regularly and change tampons every few hours then you should avoid TSS.

yeah but its really rare.
so to avoid that wear a pad during the night instead of a tampon because bacteria grows in dark wet places. which definately describes that area.
