...bike would be best for me? I have ridden before. I took the dirt bike school and my dad and i rode the ttr-125. I have to be quite honest and say that i felt huge on the bike. We also rode the ttr-230, it was bigger yes, and it felt more comfortable that the ttr-125. My only concern is that we are going to get bored with these bikes. I have been told by numerous dealers that we will get bored on these bikes and will be buying new ones in a few months. I do not have the money to do that. I want something that im going to get my money's worth, once i become comfortable on the bike will be able to push the throttle a little more, and hopefully start jump. I will be doing mostly trial riding, but we will be going to the mountains to ride. Please give me some advice, i am so confused, some people say that the 150 is wayyyy too much power and others say that it is just right.
(I have riden mountain bikes for quite some time now so i have a good trail knowledge, and i know when i have met my limits or i am not good engouht for a trail.)
i meant 250, not 150

you are in a tough position for choosing a bike. most bikes that would
fit you by dimension have to much power for a beginner. I would
not recommend getting a 2-stroke for your first bike because they are
so jumpy and hard to trail ride on. they stall out very easily and
have vicious power bands. a honda or yamaha 230 would fit
you best, and i dont know how much power you will want in the
future, but those bike will definitely have enough power for trail
riding. you could, on the other hand get a crf 250x(money permitting)
and just take it easy on it until you feel comfortable with the
power. if you choose this make sure you get the 250X instead of
the 250R. the x is made for trail riding and the r is made for
supercross racing...not what you want for being a begginer or trail riding. hope this helps.

definately stick to the 125 / 4 stroke something else to consider is one bike will vary from another in size such as the brand...
