So, because you can't get a Kindle from Amazon until forever, I am going to buy one from eBay but all of the descriptions say "new REFURBISHED!" what does this mean? will it be the same as new? Should I spend 370$ on this?

I believe refurbished means that it was broken or return and then fixed/repaired by another company to be resold. I bought a refurbished playstation 2 many years ago of ebay, it worked ok for a couple years but it wouldn't always play games and it eventually crapped out much sooner than it should have. Would up buying a new PS2 within 3 years. Just know that you have limited or no warranty coverage, and because it's refurbished it can't be returned to the maker.
