I am buying ipad will it solve my purpose for laptop?

What are the realistic benefits of ipad ? please explain in details as I have no idea about this product.

Will it substitute laptop ?

I am going for ipad 16 GB Wi-fi 3G model.

Yes it can do everything a laptop can plus it has awesome apps, unless you are wanting to play games and stuff because it has no disk drive.

You still need a laptop.....to update, to download certain apps, to transfer your music and keep a backup...
