...drag this out? My side won the culture war. Every year, another country accepts gay marriage. Every year, another state, accepts gay marriage. What joy does it give conservatives to drag this out? They KNOW they will eventually lose. Do they just want to make sure that no gay person EVER votes conservative for the next 100 years?

Wrong. Roman Catholicism is the fastest growing religion. 1.2 Billion members, 17 million new converts last year. And Catholics BEAT Islam on its own home turf: Africa.
