i am playing fable three for 360 and in brightwall and my dog will not follow me?

i follow the golden trail and i have multiple missions from civilians to where i need to dig in brightwall but everytime i get close to following to the point i need to be the dog wont follow and i cant dig. if i run up really fast it will say dig for a second but goes away cuz my dog is nowhere to be seen he is far away chasing his damn tail.
does anyone know how to change this?
help me please.
 
XD I had this problem with the Sam & Max Quest, it was weird, I just saved it turned XBOX off then on again and it worked, so yeah, it's just a minor glitch in the game.
