I am trying to put music on my motorola v365?

i just bought a motorola v365 and i am trying to put music on it via memory card but when i try to swith to the memory card it says the memory card needs to be formatted so i clicked ok but it said that the format failed . whats wrong with it?

they send you the ringtone in a text message
free
