the name of the bike is Kensington elite series. I have spent hours on the net, in the library, and calling local cycle shops. No one has ever heard of Kensington bikes. There is no country of manufacture that I can find anywere on the bike. Can anyone in the world help me identify this bike. thank you

No clue but I'll make some stupid guesses anyway. The fact that Kensington is a name I haven't heard before doesn't bother me because there are a lot of makers I'm not familiar with and a small maker may make great bikes. The "elite series" part gives me pause. That indicates to me that Kensington makes (or made) cheap bikes. They wanted to sell some up market (whether they made any effort to make them better bikes is questionable) so they put another sticker on them "Elite Series."

Post a link to some pictures and I am sure people can tell you quickly whether it is worth tuning up and riding or better for yard art or a boat anchor. I'll give odds on a boat anchor.

Good Luck

If it rides nice and looks nice then it doesn't really matter. I've got a Daewoo bike that is really nice, and is preferable to their cars.
