I can vote my gun/hunting rights, or my job, but not both. Why is that?

I believe you should be able to own pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns. I hunt deer. I also think civilians shouldn't own assault weapons.I think you should be able to own hunting weapons. But that is another matter. But I am a public school teacher. And in general, people who support gun rights, tend to want to destroy the public schools. Like Bush with No Child Left Behind (i.e. get perfect scores in Ten Years, or we "Nuke," the school) So I can vote for my gun and hunting rights, or I can vote for public schools, but not for both. Because politicians either support one or the other.

What harm is done by an honest person owning a assault weapon? If you owned one would you become a bad person? Just because a weapon is classified as an assault weapon doesn't make it or the person owning it a threat to society. If someone wants to own an assault weapon for target shooting or bragging rights it hurts no one.

The No Child left behind program was worthless and did more harm than good. Wait for what Obama hits you with. You will think NCLB was wonderful compared to his ideas.

Sometimes you just have to take the good with the bad. Finding the perfect candidate is very hard to do.
