i cant acces the internet because of my antivirus what is it???help please!!!!!!!?

i have a hp windows vista laptop,and have recently reinstalled my antivirus ,that is trend micro antivirus , the problem is that if i want to access the internet i have to turn my antivirus off, what can be the problem??? what could i do about it?????? please help!!!!
