i can't afford the payments on my truck, what can i do?

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500, i got a pay cut and now i can't afford to make the payments on it anymore. i'm thinking about letting the bank have it but that will mess my credit up for a long time. is there any other options? no one will buy it privately because of gas prices, can anyone help me? thank you for looking.
 
Perhaps you could talk to the bank about refinancing over a longer period so your payments go down.
 
once you been making payments for awhile, def. try to refinance it and maybe that'll save you a few bucks
