I cant get ringtones off of my SD card on my Droid 2 Global. Any ideas?

I have some ringtones that I downloaded from a website on my computer, put them on the SD card that was supplied with the phone, and now I can't assign them to anything. They don't even appear as an option. But I have viewed them in the Phone Files menu. Accessing the Manage SIM Card menu doesn't show them either. Anyone know how to make this work?
