If I plug an Ethernet cord into my laptop. It doesn't read a connection on the screen. But it lights up in the slot.

Help?
Thanks xxxnulifierxxx I didn't have the driver installed.

you do not have the driver installed for it. go to device manager and you will see a question mark on the ethernet controller. you need to download it using another pc, and using a usb drive to transfer it to laptop and install it from the usb. then you can use it

is the ethernet cord running from a cable modem? if so you may need to clone the laptops mac address with the computer that normally connects - www.computer-adviser.com/wireless-networking-communication.html
