I coughed up a tissue like lump, what is it?

I have had a cough for a week. This morning i coughed up a small marble sized lump of pink tissue and a little red (maybe blood). It kind of looks like when you open a birds egg and the fetus of the baby bird is just forming. Its very strange. Thought it was a hairball since it is a little hard but not much, and it is not hairy at all, just a pinkish lump. Please tell me what this is.....thanks!
