i dont know how to get facebook on my iPhone 4..help?

I'm really new to using iPhones and I just got one today. I'm having trouble downloading free apps such as the facebook app. Everytime I try download it, it asks for my Apple I.D. so I've made one but I dont have a credit card, so I've left the payment method as "none", but this isn't letting me download anything :S What can I do?
 
You NEED to link a credit card to your apple ID, even if you're not paying for anything.

for the time being, go onto the safari app and type in "m.facebook.com" and then you can save that to the homescreen, works almost as well as the app.
 
Adam's right. Type in a credit card number.
