First off, lemme start off by saying I own an 09 H2 Hummer, and a 03 Chevrolet Tahoe, so I'm not some dumbass environmentalist
Now, what I don't understand is GM's positioning of the Chevy line
They have the escalade, which is focused at luxery
The GMC line which is quite refined
and the Chevrolet line which... is quite refined....
Historically Chevy has been the working mans vehicles, and Suburbans and K5's/Tahoes go right into that simply because their needed on the worksite.
Suburban which just hit it's 75th birthday, being the longest running model in the world it simply too far out of line.
Why doesn't Chevy offer the Suburban and Tahoe as base model units, don't get me wrong the luxury is nice too, and some only by Chevy not GMC, but is a entry and working model too much to ask for?
Now, the 3/4 suburban is more of a joke then anything else, they were putting the 6.2's in tahoes for a while as an option, the only option for the 3/4 sub is a 6.0... Gas engine.
This is rediculous this isn't a real towing vehicle, put a diesel in it or at least the 7.4L or 8.1L V8
AND FOR GOD SAKES START PUTTING METAL BUMPERS ON ALL THESE SUV"S <- this is simply a facepalm that they would even put a plastic bumper on a vehicle that will be offroading or doing heavy working after it's new and to the first few owners useful life.
These vehicles are being built like crap now and the price tag does not show that lowering of cost.
I looked at a 75th sub other day ago, plastic bumpers plastic interior, nothing amazing
Even the f'n Z71 tahoe I looked at has a plastic bumper on the front that looks like strong steel, it's like wtf.
They freggin ask why they don't sell, they get 21mpg now so for gosh sakes it's obviously not the gas, it's the freggin price that doesn't equate to the goddamn quality
I'm not talking mpg, besides the hybrid SUV's are just a media thing, theirs no real point in them, the normal Tahoes get 21 mpg, whithout the extra cost.
I'm talking about the price and the catering
Well for the 1/2 ton the 5.3... is whatever but for the 3/4 ton it's just sad.
the 75th anniversary suburban i saw was priced at 62,000..
and of course a new escalade is upwards $85,000

I'm not sure I understand both my H2, which since it's newer has the new 6.2L and 6 speed tranny and my tahoe get around 15mpg which isn't bad at all, and of course I can afford, anyone that could probably would, their great vehicles, obviously your probably insulting me due to the nature I own a Hummer, which also means you've never driven one to know which makes your argument invalid, alongside if People like me couldn't afford these vehicles then why would any company produce them knowing no one could afford them?
And nothing is wrong with society as I an American citizen I have all the oppertunities possible, as do you, obviously you choose to be lazy and make nopthing of yourself, or at least that's what I can summerize.
