I was on a wonderful site with rat info http://freewebs.crittercity.com
and i was reading on what to and what not to feed your rats, and i found raw peanuts on there! now, normally the peanuts i buy my rats are from the store out of the big bin. but last time i went there they didnt have the peanut bins there! so my mom bought bagged peanuts instead. The bag said they were raw so that you could cook them yourself. I tried one and it tasted funny, but my rat scorpious loves peanuts and he took them. the bag has lasted awhile. I got two new rats, and im not sure whether they had any peanuts or not, but on the site it said it could cause kidney cancer in male rats and my rats are male. i feel awful. The babies should be okay but poor scorpious has been eating them for awhile. i gave them to him very frequently, which i found i shouldnt have, as they can be high in fat. Is there anything i can do? plus, how do i roast peanuts? although it is a small bag, they have lasted awhile and there are still quite a few left. It says to spread them on a baking skeet and bake 30-35 min on 350 degree temp, but if someone has a better, more specific way please tell me, no salt or butter or anything as these will be for rats. if not for an idiot like me, help my rats!
