I got a new TV and it is staticky on satellite but not DVD WHHHHY?!?

I have an old school directv box.. from like 1999. It has worked fine on all my other TV's.. I got this new 60 inch HDTV and it plays awesome DVD's but my satellite has squiggly lines on it :( Driving me nuts... I am not upgrading my directv, so am I doomed with squigglys?
