I got hit by a soft ball should i go get it checked out?

My brother threw a ball to me over a fence. So it went kinda hi up in the air and when it was coming down I thought it was headed right 4 my glove and it hit me really hard in the fore arm. I hit right on my vein and my arm instantly turned red and splotchy. It swelled up and looked bad right away. Now it is like a circular reddish bruise and the middle of it is white or kinda skin color. Its slightly warm to the touch and this happened around noon on Monday (labor day). I just know when i touch it its really tender and im only worried because it is right on my vein. So idk what i should do. I know everyone is going to say go to the doctors like i should but i want some opinions first.
