If this is your own child, then no it's not deductible. If it's an unrelated child and you were just assigned to pick them up as part of your job, it might be deductible if you weren't reimbursed for the miles, but only if you itemize, and even then only for the part of your employee expenses that are more than 2% of your income.

...deductible? My boss offered before & aftercare within our facility and no one could pick up one of the kids from school so I had to end up doing it. I used my own vehicle and would rush from my daytime job in order to get this child from school. Any information would be helpful, thank you!
