Sierra 4.3 liter 3 speed with a transmission was replaced with a rebuilt one. The tag says turbohydramatic, some lettering worn off but an A at the end. There is also a 9227 stamped in the middle with 90 LRA 1847 stamped at the bottom. Will this fit and operate in the Olds? I imagine drive shaft may have to be replaced too.

Yes
yes this is a very easy swap and done alot.

you will need to have the driveshaft made to match and balanced .

Also you will need to swap all of your ECM & wiring over for the ECM and controler for the transmission. GMC is Roller motor also ? thats a plus.

1 year under my hat with a 86 S RWD pulled a 307 and installed a 455 with 4l60 and 342 gears

... Have fun... when you get mad just walk away for a while and go back after you cool down. Wiring will drive you nuts unless you tag it as you pull it off.

Sorry the cutlass is front wheel drive and the Sierra is rear wheel drive. Those transmissions will not interchange no way no how.
