...night??!!? I put him in his crate when we go to bed and straight away he starts barking, his crate is in the kitchen and we have an open plan house so when he is barking we can hear him in the bedroom, it is stopping us from sleeping and it is reallly affecting us!. We have tried loads of toys and giving him treats when he gets in his crate but nothing seems to be working. I am at the end of my tether with him but I love him to pieces and I am afraid I wont be able to stand this much longer!!. Please can someone help me?

He is lonely. Some dogs suffer loneliness more than others.
I have a Lhasa (a lot like a Shitsu).
If you take him to bed with you, he won't cry. But he'll expect to get into your bed from now on. I feel for the dog. Whatever the nazi trainers say, I would open my heart and comfort his loneliness. He's just a baby @ 17 weeks :(

well first of all make sure there is a small pellow and blankets in the crate second of all i have gone threw it to !! so put a clock in the crate or on top make sure he can hear it the clock tick tock noise will help it sleep thats all i can say :)
