Should I rebuild the head too? I have been told that it is not a good idea to rebuild the head without also rebuiling the engine block. My car has 80,000 miles on it. I had a machine shop check the head for cracks, and none were found. They did test the head, and the middle cylinders do not allow pressure to build as high as the outer cylinders (80 psi vs. 50 psi). They think it may be carbon build up. My mechanic is advising against doing anything to the head unless I also rebuild the block at the same time. Any suggestions?
Thank you.
