I have a 1995 1.3 vw polo that wont start?

Hi i own i 1.3 1995 polo.
I recently stopped starting, the engine turns over but will not start, there is fuel the plugs are sparking and the air filter is brand new.
It starts fine on warm days and i can sometimes start it after trying for a long time but this requires a second car to jump it as the battery goes flat after so much turning over.
It also displays i code on teh milage display, it says in 02.
Please help is this a sensor and could i just take it off?
 
you are looking for a cold start sensor or a choke. a 95 is old enough to have electronic ignition but if you got the trouble codes get you a repair manual. (anybodies)and go for it .And if that doesn't work in the states we called the polo the V W Rabbit if you can't find out about the polo look for rabbit stuff.
