about a month ago, the car accelerated on its own in a parking lot and i almost hit a van. then one day a month later, it quits, stalls. i had it towed home. i put a new ignition coil on it and that didnt work. well, i took it to a mechanic and he put a new cam sensor on it, and a timing belt tensioner, and spark plugs, and got it started. now it hesitates badly in the 1200 rpm range. but it idles so smooth, and it runs smooth at higher rpms. mainly hesitating upon take off. the mechanic is confused, could anyone lend me some good pointers as im out of money after paying this mechanic and buying parts. thanks

Try cleaning the maf with qd electronics cleaner.

Though...if it idles okay it's probably not the maf or idle air control. So basically you're going to need to scan it and take a look at what's popping up diagnostic trouble code wise.
