I have a 1998 dodge stratus runs good my only problem is that when I shift

the car into reverse or down into d? drive the car makes a clunk noise. The car drives good so is there something going wrong with my transmission? Also why is my muffler sound so loud whe there is no leak in muffler or exhaust system and I smell exhaust also sometimes smell like rotten eggs?Does the manifol have anything to do with that?

the smell like rotten eggs is the converter.Which is going south on you. This could also account to the higher lever in the sound of the exhaust with less back pressure.
