The windshield glass installer people will gladly come to your house to install your windshield for you. It usually takes about an hour to change a windshield. The big thing to be careful of is, do you have the exact duplicate piece of glass to fit in your E-320? At a cost of $150, you should jump at this deal, I would guess the installation might be $150. Ask for an estimate before you make a deal. Make sure the replacement glass has no scratches, cracks, or edge nicks.

I have located one for $150.00 at a local salvage, but I don't know how much it would cost to remove and install. Is it such specialized work that a shade tree mechanic can not do it? Insurance deductible is too high, i.e. $500. Is it best to bite the bullet and start from scratch and just pay a local auto glass company? What is a ballpark estimate for taking glass into a shop and having them remove and install the windshield that I bring them?
