i have a 95 saturn and need an engine.will 95 engines only fit?

i called a junkyard looking for a used engine for my car and the guy said only 95 engines will work so its gonna be hard to find a good one.what i need to know is if any year besides 95 will fit.the car is a sl2 dohc 1.9 ltr.
