I have a 98 Chevy Silverado, when i turn the wipers on sometimes they work...

...sometimes they don't.? Whene the wipers dont work a buzzing noise is made
 
the plastic gear in the wiper motor maybe be stripping, if the wiper blades jump when you hear the buzzing . when they dont come on raise the hood and bump the black plastic cover on the wipermotor see if they come on .
