I have a dell computer and want to wipe out everything inclu ding XP and start

over and then reinstall XP.? I have backed up the files I want to keep but want to delete everything else with no worries on giving my computer to someone else

you should securely erase the harddrive. download an ubuntu live cd and get some documentation on using the "shred" command

change your boot start up in the bios to start on the cd drive 1st,

put the xp disk in and restart your pc after you save in the bios....and windows will show you what to do from there.
change back once everything is installed.
