...to know why it keeps turning off.? A mechanic stated that unless the engine light is on, he can't check the diagnostics from the computer in the vehicle. Does that make sense ?? Could it be that the transmission is wearing down. Also, sometimes there is a slight odor when it turns off. It has been doing that whether we are driving or idle. What can I do ? Please help, cause its's cold as hell out here in Jersey and I dont want to get stuck on the side of the road.lol
 
Your mechanic is an idiot, if it keeps shutting off.. maybe somethings just loose? alternator? battery? some other connection? find a new mechanic, that guy is a lazy douche..
