Without a doubt. It's more than a feeling (song in this somewhere), it's just the sad truth.
However, that doesn't mean that the "religion" itself is necessarily wrong. It's more likely that these fellowships are just cherry picking their scriptures and ignoring what convicts them.
This is sadly just human nature. Don't let it get you down. Let it simply serve as a proof that we're all in need of a Savior (Jesus Christ) and we don't become perfect the moment we surrender to His power and love.
