i have a samsung galaxy 4g i dropped in water last week.?

I tried the rice and drying it, so were passed that stage. The phone now turns on and everything works 100%, all the buttons, on/off, camera etc, but it says "searching for SVC" and when i dial a call, says "Service not available. I noticed earlier the phone said "Emergency calls only, NO SIM CARD" but after i cleaned it and pressed it in, the message went away. IF THE SIM CARD IS DAMAGED< WILL IT CAUSE ALL THESE PROBLEMS????
