...existing world? I downloaded a torrent, used a friend's username and password once, and just play survival mode offline. I really like the game, and want to buy it, but I'm afraid that if I do, it will delete my existing world where i have diamond equipment, and a ready to go portal to nether. What will happen if I buy the game? I'm hoping all it does is update my existing v1.1.2_01 to v1.1.2_02 (Halloween update) but I don't know...

Just backup your saved games. Remove the game, install the new one. Run it. See if your games are still there. If not, restore them from backup. I don't even think you'll need the backup really though.
