looks like you will need to buy some DDR2 PC5300 just do a search for it in google. try www.newegg.com all you do is just stick it in the slot and it should work just fine :D
 
...upgrade to 4gb & how? thanks? and if i can not or should not upgrade to a 4gb, then how many gb? i really just want my laptop to run faster. i mainly use it for the internet and to store pics. my processor is a amd turion 64x2 mobile technology tl-56 1.80 ghz.
 
Go to: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/findMemory.jsp select your model and find the right ram and how much you can upgrade to. It probably will be 2 GB or less. Ram will not speed up your lap top only let you run more programs at once.
I just upgraded my ram to 4 GB and got a great price from: http://www.frys.com but bought it direct from the store.
