i have blown the ignition lights on my ford transit while fitting new starter...

...motor how do i fix it? it is a 2000 X plate transit i think the solenoid wires shorted and all dash lights went out not sure how to get them back if it is a fuse or something?? i cant start my van now even with the new starter fitted and wired correctly

It may be the main body feed fuse. This is the big one that stops all the power to the chassis. It could be an insulated fusible link or a soft lead element held in by screws. You may need to consult a manual to find it. Next time disconnect your battery before messing with any electrical repairs.....I guess you already figured that out.
