any free/trial programs I can use? I have some meditation music and one of the tracks cuts off abruptly and wakes both my daughter and I, which being light sleepers and temporarily living in a place where you hear loud mopeds, cars made to be loud and obnoxious, police and ambulances go by all night, we NEED this to sleep.
I need a program to smoothly fade out that one track, but I don't know what I can use that is either free or has a free trial, I don't mind buying if I like it. thanks in advance.

I use Audacity for sound editing... it's free and easy to use, but I'm not sure if it supports .flac.

You'll have to try it to see if it works, and if not, convert them to .wav or .mp3. Instruction for how to do that are here: http://www.simplehelp.net/2006/08/14/how-to-convert-flac-files-to-mp3-using-windows/.
