I have verizon home phone service in my area, but why isn't verizon dsl available?

I live in Crosby, Texas in the rural area where there's grassfarms. I been having verizon landline phone service since i moved here 6 years ago. I call every other month to see if dsl is available and they keep saying no. How come I have phone service but no dsl? Thank you for your answers
 
It probably comes down to the fact that are not enough potential DSL customer in the area where you live. To provide DSL to an area is a considerable financial investment on the part the provider. I would have thought that AT&T would be the local provider in Texas.
