i have a 05 mustang and i jumped someones battery wrong, their red cable was negative and black positive( i didn't know that and they didn't also) after hooking up the cables my positive terminal started sparking and my car turned off, i had someone else jump my car and it would only stay on for like 10 min. it would shut off as soon as i try to take off, i tried to take the battery off to take it to get charged but only got the negative off because the positive terminal was fused with the cable. i came back like 4 hours later to try to get the car started and started up like normal and was working fine until the next day, it started doing the same thing again and i dont know what it can be, any ideas or suggestion? its covered under warranty still but i dont know if jumping a car wrong voids it or if they can even tell i did that.
i did get one of those mobile chargers and charged it for like a hour before i took off, but when it was running i took it to autozone and i got a starter system check and everything passed except the alternator said "bad diodes'' but i dont know if that means i need a new one or the one i got is fine,
also all the electrical worked fine and even all my presets and settings on my radio were stilled saved.
