...DVD/CD-ROM) CONVERTER ADAPTER...? I have NO IDEA how to set it up. Basically I'm trying to connect and old hard drive (that used ribbons) to a newer model tower (that uses IDE). I hooked up everything but my problem is the power supply is different format then the old one. What do I do?

How many pins does your old SATA HDD have and how many does your motherboard have for powersupply? Just look up a connector with the different pins.

Sounds like you may have the wrong adapter. What you have sounds like it wants to connect an older style motherboard with IDE to a newer hard drive with SATA. From what you said, you are trying to go the other way.
