...leaking trans fluid from the pan.? And it looks like I might be leaking fluid from the rear main seal. And to top it all off...my transmission dipstick doesn't go all the way in. What the heck is going on?
 
I would say that the gasket slipped while you were putting your pan back on. Get a new gasket. It would be best to use a gasket adhesive on the pan. It will aid in holding the gasket in place when you put the pan in place while you put the bolts back in. Also, don't over-tighten the bolts. They should be slightly tighter than snug. If you get them too tight, they will break your gasket. Get the gasket on correctly and fill it with the proper amount of fluid and you should be OK.

more than likely you ether didn't put the felt er in right or you didn't get the pan back on right and Brockie the gasket in the attempt to get it closed up once more i would sagest that you once more double check your work and make shure that the filter is the right one for some times the parts store makes a mistake and you get the wrong box and you not sure of just what is wright or wrong assume that its the wright one and forget the human Aero and once more at to the problem for years ive had a sigh in my shop saying

hope you can get it fix but remeber the more you mess up the more the bill goes ching
 
you need to re do it and take your time and clean everything
 
the gasket is not put into place right and the dipstick is hitting the gasket
you will probably need a new gasket now be sure to clean away all of the old gasket
