I just brought my cat home from being spayed, and shes sleeping. i was just doing some research, and an ovariohysterectomy is removal of ovaries and uterus... which i get, but can anyone tell me from their own experience if they noticed a clear visable difference in the shape of the abdomen. hers looks very sunken in.... It makes sense, but i am just a bit over protective and worried, thanks!

I've had 5 female cats spade. My last ones abdomen looked the same way, which kind of freaked me out, because the others didn't look like that. Was your cat pregnant during her spay? Mine was and I thought maybe that had some thing to do with it. This was in June now and I noticed she has gained a lot of weight and has a pouch sagging, My other 4 did not gain weight like that and only one of them has a slight pouch. Also, since the spaying, her stomach has become sensitive to certain cat foods which she never had before. You can take her in for a after surgery check up or call them. I would watch her carefully for the next week to see if everything is OK. Also it took my last cat about 3 days to actually get over the surgery to where my other cats it took about 1 1/2.

Both of my female cats were the same way. It's been 8 1/2 years now and they have a lot of extra skin hanging there. Of course i feed them a lot so some of that could be fat.

I think that pretty normal, I only had medium and longhair cats so there not as obvious when there done, Glad you love your cats.
