The pill doesn't take full efect for a few days, but you should ALWAYS USE A CONDOM! the pill doesn't protect against STD's, and you can still get pregnant, but the chances are lowered greatly.

I would say about at least 2 weeks steady of taking the pill before it is actually in your system.

The pill is only 95% - 99% effective. You MUST wait at least a month before you stop using condoms. Then, if you miss a day or two, you will want to make sure that your boyfriend uses a condom. I've been on the pill for 12 years now, trust me! I missed a few days in a row, now my husband and I have a child. (which is fine because we're married ). Play it safe :)

read the directions or just call a nurse hot line other than that if it has been about two weeks you should be good and remember that the pill does not stop STD's so be very carefull if your going to be sexually active because most people don't know they have a problem until it is too late.

yeah it protects 99% of the time but theresa still a chance i would go to the hospital and they'll give you a shot that lasts 6moths and they will call you 2 weeks before u need one again

They say you should wait about a week for it to be effective providing you use it properly.. but i would wait at least a month just to be on the safe side..

Just remember though that the pill is not 100% effective and there is still a chance of getting prego.. and it doesn't protect against STD's either. Just so you are aware

you must wait a full cycle before you can rely on the efficacy of any birth control pill. Keep using the condoms until after your next period.
