if it can pull out of H2O? The Equinox supposedly has 3500 lbs of towing cap. I understand that we have to take in consideration the cargo of the car. The pontoon is a 20 ft pontoon and from what we can find online it appears that the combined weight of the pontoon, trailer, and motor is ruffly 2500. So with all that in mind, we know it can tow the pontoon from point a to point b, but can it pull it out of the water? How much weight do you take in consideration when pulling something out of the water? The Equinox is AWD full time. The boat trailer is a single axle trailer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should be OK - the 3500# towing capacity of the vehicle is for highway use as well - meaning you will be driving in the higher gears - overdrive or top gear. Pulling boats out of the water will not create any problems for you, since you will ahve the vehicle shifted (either manually or automatically) into 1st gear - lots of torque on the wheels and not too much strain on the engine.

Don't worry - you'll be fine with that vehicle and the pontoon

As long as your not pulling it like 40 ft out of the water it should be fine cuz i pull my boat out of the water and onto the trailer which is about half submerged and it comes out fine so you should be fine especially cuz its full time AWD.
