...it tagged.? How can I get it registered in another state that has lower tag fees, like NM?
I've already paid all the taxes on it. Now answer my questions..
I tried the ole 'have a friend or relative' bit. But DMV needs to see two documents with your NM address on it. Also tried tranferring title to relative there. But they check credits and relative is responsible for any accidents. Not good that way either.
 
If you had just bought a vehicle, remember you'll be paying a state sales tax too, specially if you had bought from a private owner.
 
Get a New Mexico address. Do you have any friends down there that wouldn't mind you using their address?

Keep in mind that if you are in an accident, and are being sued for big bucks, the first thing your insurance company will do find any way they can not to pay out.

That includes investigating where you really live.
