...temporary hold? I am in good standing. I have AT&T and have been with them for the past year and have always paid my bill on time.
I lost my job 2 days ago....I have money saved up for my next 2 cell phone bills, but will br broke after that.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to put my service on hold until I get a job back again? I am on a 2 year contract...I do NOT want to pay an early cancellation fee/termination fee
I do not have any money to pay any kind of monthly fee

Why dont you call them and ask them. Whether you cancel your service or put it on hold, you're going to have to call them to do either of which, so why not just call them and ask them, thats why they have a customer service number.

You can put your phone into "hold" or "vacation mode". I think the maximum time you can do this is 3 months. Keep in mind though, that whatever time you choose to put your line in "vacation mode", it will extend your contract that much more.
