Anybody know the answer to this question?
You may have noticed that above a certain mutation rate the time required for a population to adapt to its background may increase. Why do you think this is so?

Not entirely sure, but the answer might have something to do with that organisms that are already well adapted to their environments might be harmed by a mutation and have to work their way back up to a helpful adaption standing.

Hope this helped, someway, somehow. Though I doubt it did. This is a dumb question.
