Me and a friend were talking about the questions: If a glass is at the half way point is it half full or half empty? And the question if a tree falls down and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
I think it depends on how the water reaches the half way point. I think if it's full, but someone drank from it or got poured out, then it is half empty. If it's empty, then filled with water, then it is half full.
He says neither.
As for the tree question: I do not think so, because sound is heard through vibrations, and if no vibrations made it to anybody, then it's not making a sound.
He is unsure about that one.
