I need help choosing a vacation destination!!!?

All right so 3 people, no kids from New Jersey.

Looking to go for a week-long vacation. (over/under a few days is possible)

We just can't seem to find the right spot though.

Would like to have a city, but at the same time, wilderness is awesome. Think state parks!

The ocean is a plus, but not essential.

It has to be domestic and nothing too ridiculously expensive.

City and/or hotel suggestions would be AWESOME! Personal experience even better.

Best answer goes depending on where it's booked (by Sunday!)

I was looking at Toronto; I know Canada is beautiful, but unfortunately, none of us have passports.
Yes. The plan is to book a full flight-hotel-car package.

Will you have a car? Loveland, Colorado is very nice. We have a lake, beach, mountains with Rocky Mtn. National Park within an hour. The ride includes driving gorgeous canyons. You can hike, swim, fish, etc. We are short on night life unless you want to go downtown Denver, about 60 minutes South of Loveland. Beautiful, not humid weather, clean air. No, I don't belong to the Chamber of Commerce.
