I'm looking to transfer from being a boxer to doing karate, i just started and im going to do it much longer, but in the end i want to transfer to doing karate. How long should i continue boxing? also, i want to transfer from karate to kung fu and get a well rounded perception of fighting and all the different mental and physical strengths they provide. should i just stick to karate and not do kung fu or just stick to boxing or what? t
thank you!

don't transfer from boxing period. it is not as flashy but it is way more effective than either of the other arts you mentioned. if anything get a little better at boxing and do muay thai.

basically going from boxing to karate is a step backwards

I did both at the same time but not until I was a green belt in Karate. It was easy to differentiate the two from each other and I truly enjoyed both.

You should do boxing and karate at the same time. Boxing will make you bigger and work more on increasing your muscle and making your body bigger. Of course it'll also teach you boxing skills, but you'll do alot of weights etc. Karate + big and strong = yes yes.

Of course you'll also get toned in karate but usually dojo's don't focus on your muscles etc its more techniques and stamina. You'll be like superman if you do the two!

Hmm..As a Pro fighter I WOULD NOT recommend that you stop doing boxing. As someone said it's not as Flashy but it's ten times more effective than Karate or Kung fu. I would Add Some form of thai boxing if you want to add Kicks and Knees to your skill set. Muay Thai also blends smoothly into boxing so you won't have much trouble adjusting or learning counter productive habits.
